This website is an integrated website with both public and private content. Access to private content is granted upon joining our organization when a userid and password is assigned.

Non-Member Access

Non-members will be granted access to a limited amount of public content including:
* Information About HCCMD, how to join, etc.
* Public News
* A Public Homeschooling Discussion Forum
* Weblinks

On the home page, non-members can view a list of our most recently occurred events, to give them a taste of the type of events our community sponsors. They can also see a month view of the calendar that lets them know we have activities planned on most every day of the week. They can also see our public homeschooling news, a public discussion forum and a listing of our top 10 files and top 10 Web Links. They can access the Web Links but cannot download or see files.

Member Access

Upon Joining our website, you will be assigned a userid and granted access to all of our private content including:

* Event Calendar - A complete listing of all the family events, field trips, co-ops, and much more happenings in our community
* Family Directory - Contact information on all our members to make connections with age/grade related playmates and adults and
* File Cabinet - Files for Homeschooling including schooling templates, event documents and organizational documents.
* Forums - Discussion on topics like field trips, curriculum, homeschool businesses, Kids Konnection, Resource exchanges, organizational business and more
* Photo Gallery - Meet the kids and parents in our photo archive
* Private Messages - send private messages to members
* Public News Topics - View and comment on homeschooling news from across the world
* Quick Polls - surveys and polls to find out what other homeschoolers are thinking
* Search - search the entire site
* User Preferences - customize the look and feel of the site to your preferences
* Web Links - contribute and explore our homeschooling link library
* Website Suggestion Box - enter a website suggestion and track changes to the website

Design Notes

This website was created by customizing open source content management software called PHP-Nuke. This software uses the PHP programming language with a MYSQL database for data storage. The content is dynamic in nature and the pages are created "on-the-fly" as a user browses through the website. Our servers are hosted by LunarPages.
